Cloaking Tips and Strategies

I don’t recommend it, but if you decide to use cloaking, a few simple tips will increase your success.

• Do not cloak for Google. It does not work with them and will most likely get your site banned.
• Be aware that cloaking is against all the major search engines terms of service. Why bite the hands that feeds you?
• Put your cloaked site on a different host then your real site.
• The domain for your cloaked site should be similar to your real site. (i.e. www.widgets-portal.com and www.widget-portal.com would be an example of two similar domains that you could use.
• Continue to develop your “real site” with good content, design and links.
• Don’t deceive the search engines. Use cloaking to help them identify your content with plain text HTML pages they can easily and accurately index your page.
• As your real site gets good search engine position please discontinue this practice for your own good.
